1. How did being in New York impact your professional journey?
Countless companies call NYC home. At Wagner, I had the opportunity to work for two different nonprofit insurance companies (not at the same time) during the roll out of healthcare reform. Those experiences showed me the inner workings of health insurance companies, and more importantly, I got a first-hand view of how health organizations operate.
2. How would you describe your experience as a Wagner student?
My experiences at Wagner really shaped my post-academic career, but I had to step up and get involved - co-founding a new student group. Leading efforts on campus is a great way to flex your management skills and build your professional tool box.
3. Describe your current job.
I am a Strategy Consultant in the Health & Public Service practice at Accenture. We help healthcare organizations solve complex problems and respond to changes in market dynamics. My engagements at Accenture take me across the healthcare spectrum, including payer, provider, and life sciences. I took what I learned at Wagner (health care and health insurance) and opened myself up to learning something new (medical malpractice insurance) and experienced real professional growth in a short amount of time. That's consulting!
