Can you tell us a bit about your job responsibilities?
In partnership with the board and staff, I lead Good Shepherd Services, which is one of New York City's largest children-, youth- and family-serving not-for-profit organizations. With over 80 programs and an annual budget of approximately $100 million, we serve more than 34,000 New Yorkers each year. Responsibilities include overall financial, operational, program and risk management, fund development and stewardship of the strategic plan. We have remained fully operational during the pandemic, keeping all of our residential programs running 24/7 and deploying our community-based staff and resources to contribute to the citywide response and relief effort.
I was appointed Executive Director in December 2019, having previously served as Associate Executive Director for Government and External Relations.
What were you doing before you came to NYU Wagner?
I had already been working in the public service field in New York City, specifically in policy and advocacy related to education, youth development, and child welfare.
What impact do you hope to make through your career?
I hope to help make New York City a better place for children, youth, and families to live, work, and grow up and to make a positive impact in the field of human services.
