In honor of World AIDS Day, we are pleased to present a special screening of Buddies, the first feature-length narrative film to confront the AIDS crisis. Written and directed by independent filmmaker Arthur J. Bressan Jr., the 1985 release offered an unflinching, compassionate look at the epidemic at a time when mainstream media largely remained silent. Beautifully restored in 2018, the film continues to resonate as a groundbreaking portrayal of friendship, love, and loss. The production holds a unique connection to our community: it co-stars David Schachter, NYU Wagner's Associate Dean for Student Affairs.

Following the screening, we invite attendees to stay for a post-screening discussion reflecting on the film’s historical impact and its continued relevance today.

Movie Screening: 5:00-6:40pm

Post-Screening Discussion: 6:45-7:30pm
