Join us for the first of Proximate’s place-based convening series, hosted in partnership with NYU and Common Future. We believe capital should move at the speed of trust - and that means getting as close as possible to the problem. This fall, we’re piloting the first of a series of place-based, cross-sectoral convenings on participatory investing. Our guiding question: how can capital be governed by, for, and with the communities most impacted by extractive economic systems? Together we’ll explore what it takes to build lasting infrastructure for community-led capital in one of the most dynamic and unequal financial hubs in the world.

This event is first and foremost a space to connect with peers—practitioners, storytellers, and strategists who are working toward a new economy. Our purpose is to meet others in this field, hear what they’re learning and experimenting with, and lay the groundwork for new collaborations.
