Have you ever written to the Mayor or called your City Council Member? Have you tweeted at a government agency and received a response? This panel will explore how citizens and government communicate with each other. How does information flow from constituents to elected leaders? How do elected leaders determine what matters to their constituents? How is new technology changing this? What do we think the future holds?

Panelists will include:

  • Daniel R. Garodnick, Visiting Scholar at NYU Wagner, former NYC Council Member

  • Jenna Brayton, Adjunct Assistant Professor of Public Service at NYU Wagner
