This discussion explores the way in which the Colombian media reported the events of violence during the armed conflict between the state and the FARC. It focuses on the perspective of former members of the FARC, who will talk about how they felt represented and what their opinion is regarding the role that the media had in the development of the war and the peace agreements. Please note: this event will be held in Spanish.

Featuring:

  • Félix Burgos (moderator/panelist), Professor in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at NYU.
  • Óscar Parra (panelist), Director of Rutas del Conflicto and professor at the School of Human Sciences of the Universidad del Rosario.
  • Three ex-combatants of the former FARC (panelists) – For security reasons, their identities will remain occluded
