Join NYU CannaPolicy and the Alliance for Climate Change and the Environment (ACE) in an important and timely discussion on the environmental impact of the "growing" cannabis industry.

Leading this discussion are guest speakers Harry Etra, ambassador & advisor to the Cannabis Conservancy, and Nicole Ricci, board member with NY Small Farma Ltd. Each brings a distinct perspective based on their role in shaping environmental practices in the cannabis industry.

Harry Etra is the CEO & Founder of HXE Partners. His experience is in advising public and private companies on their sustainability and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategies. As a Principal at CamberView Partners, he helped companies prioritize their sustainability disclosures and prepare for engagements with institutional investors. Previously as a Director at CodeGreen Solutions, he advised companies on ESG best practices with a focus on sustainability and energy efficiency within the real estate sectors. His experience includes working with clients to develop annual sustainability reports and earn recognition for their ESG initiatives through reporting programs such as LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) and ENERGY STAR. Harry holds an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School and a B.A. in history from Yale University.

Nicole Ricci's vision is to see the birth of a new industry paradigm where communities, the environment, and corporate responsibility are as important to businesses as profit margins. She advocates for socially just, environmentally regenerative, and economically inclusive cannabis policies. Her goal is to create a cannabis industry in this paradigm so that it can serve as a model for all other business sectors. She is most proud of her organization’s success in ensuring environmental oversight and the intention to improve climate resiliency into New York’s new Cannabis Law. She operates a public platform on social media called SoGobez that is focused on indigenous medicine advocacy. She supports outdoor regenerative cannabis farming, rebuilding communities most impacted by prohibition policies, and making sure the new cannabis industry does not harm people or the environment.
