Join former FDNY Commissioner and NYU Wagner Visiting Fellow Laura Kavanagh for a fireside chat on how fire safety regulations can inadvertently impact implementation of policies designed to improve street safety. Laura will be joined by Polly Trottenberg (Dean, NYU Wagner & former Commissioner, NYCDOT) and Ryan O’Donnell (Executive Director, Data for Progress) to discuss how these dynamics play out in practice, how cities can navigate them more effectively, and what they reveal about broader challenges in urban governance. Doors will open at 8:30am. The event will begin at 9:00am, with time at the end for audience Q&A. Breakfast will be provided.

NYU Wagner students and members of the broader NYU community are welcome to attend. Visitors must have a valid government ID to enter the building.
