Workers nationwide face wage theft, dangerous working conditions, and other violations of core workplace protections, and immigrant workers are at greater risk. Research shows that heightened immigration enforcement reduces worker reports of labor violations. This panel will outline challenges in enforcing immigrant workers’ rights in the current environment, and will share strategies that state and local government agencies, unions, and worker advocates have used to protect all workers’ rights on the job, including immigrant workers. Reception to follow panel.

Conversation moderated by Terri Gerstein, Director of the NYU Wagner Labor Initiative Branden Butler, Director, County of San Diego Office of Labor Standards and Enforcement Lauren Moran Chief, Fair Labor Division, Massachusetts Office of the Attorney General Jessica Rutter, AFL-CIO Labor & Immigration Policy Lab Manager Ligia Gualpa, Executive Director, Workers' Justice Project

More speakers will be announced shortly.
