The U.S. is one of thirteen countries globally that has a maternal mortality rate - the rate that measures the deaths of women related to pregnancy or childbirth - that is worse now than it was 25 years ago. Moreover, racial disparities in maternal mortality are staggering. According to the CDC, black women in the U.S. are over three times as likely to die from childbirth or pregnancy-related causes than white women.
Join WWC for an interdisciplinary conversation on the causes of this public health crisis, potential policy solutions, and current advocacy efforts.
