This event invited Wagner students, in teams of up to 4, to participate in a policy proposal writing competition in the run-up to the NYC 2021 local elections. The proposals were submitted on April 1st. They include well-researched, realistic policy recommendations with clear intention to aid NYC mayoral, city council, and/or other candidates in their plans for a post-COVID city. Participants explored themes of: education, healthcare, employment, criminal justice, and housing, with specific proposals such as: promoting housing ownership, or mental health service expansion. Proposals are being judged by a panel of Wagner faculty members, and the top 3 winners will have the opportunity to interact with a panel of candidates.

During this panel, 3 city policymakers will present their policy priorities, receive recommendations, and answer questions on a Zoom call that will conclude our event. We hope this event will create a buzz around NYC policy plans. Register below to attend our panel event.
