Professor Melissa Borja researches migration, religion, politics, pluralism, and race in the United States and the Pacific World at the University of Michigan. She will discuss her main findings from the Virulent Hate Project studying news media coverage of anti-Asian racism and Asian American activism during the Covid-19 pandemic. She will discuss patterns of hate and resistance and help our NYU community reflect on our role confronting AAPI hate.
