A Taste of Latinx Professionals

Presented by ALAS, WISS, & WMLO

ALAS is hosting a series of Latinx professionals who will engage the NYU community on their areas of expertise, how that experience is for them as Latinx, and how their work affects society and the Latinx population specifically.

Tuesday, November 7, 2017

6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

The Puck Building - 295 Lafayette Street, Rice Conference Room & Newman Reception Area, 2nd Floor, New York, NY 10012

Please join ALAS for an intimate conversation with consultant and lawyer Graciano Gaillard. Gaillard has provided his legal and administrative expertise to the United Nations (UN). He also has relevant experience dealing with Latin America as a UN employee, particularly with the former Ambassador of the Dominican Republic. During his talk, he will describe the lateral sequence of power that goes into decision making between international governing bodies and Latin American countries, as well as how the relationship differs with the UN and Latin America compared to countries in other diasporas. Example topics will include the Iran-Contra Scandal, Cuba Relations and more.
