School choice policies provide parents and students with public funds that can be used on educational alternatives to their neighborhood assigned public school. These policies can take various forms, including intra-district open enrollment and transfer programs, magnet schools, vouchers, charter schools, education savings accounts, and tax-credits. In this Ideas Exchange, facilitated by Sociology PhD candidate Chantal Hailey, we will discuss the future of school choice policies in the American educational landscape and under the new administration as we consider the potential impacts they might have on educational outcomes and the education system.
