About the Event

Welcome to our Wagner Womxn Mentorship Program Mid-Semester Check-In! Instead of traditional 1-1 mentorship pairs, mentors will lead a "pod" of 2-5 mentees who have similar interests and goals.

Everyone is welcome to join - please follow this link to register your interest. We hope to build a community and network of current students and alumni from Wagner and learn unique skills and experiences from one another.

To our current mentors and mentees, welcome back! We hope you have had a good time getting to know one another and are starting to build a connection with your pod and mentor. In this session, we will focus on goal setting.

About the Symposium

2021 began with the news that 111% of the net jobs lost in December of 2020 - 140,00 - belonged to womxn. According to the National Women's Law Center, men gained 16,000 jobs while womxn lost 156,000. The COVID-19 pandemic and the sprawling public health and economic disaster that followed in its wake have delivered a perfect storm of devastation for American womxn, especially womxn of color. Still, womxn were the best part of the past year. As the majority of the healthcare workforce, womxn were the backbone of the nation's pandemic care and response. Womxn have been organizing their communities well before the pandemic, but their passion and dedication made all the difference in elections up and down the ballot in November. It seems impossible to fully explain all the ways in which womxn held it down in the past year, but that's never stopped us before.

In honor of International Womxn's Day, Wagner Womxn is proud to present WOMXNNOW, a reimagination of our annual symposium. Throughout five events over the course of a week, join us as we reflect on the experiences of womxn navigating the exposure of our nation's safety nets and how we can transform what's been laid bare to deliver a more equitable future.
