Join Professor Carolyn Berry for a brown bag lunch to discuss her work on an evaluation of the Social Innovation Fund Initiative, funded through the Corporation for Supportive Housing. CSH funded a multi-disciplinary team at NYU to conduct a comprehensive process and outcome evaluation of the SIF Initiative. Outcome measures include housing stability, health and mental health outcomes, access and utilization of health care services. The mixed methods evaluation includes patient surveys, administrative health care and outcome data, qualitative interviews, site visits, and observation of key program activities. Evaluation challenges have included: delay in program start, slow enrollment of participants, availability of relevant data, ability to use random assignment or identify an appropriate comparison group, and logistics of fielding patient surveys. The four sites posed some common and some unique challenges to rigorous evaluation. Snacks and refreshments will be provided!
