Alex W. Malarchuk, M.S., is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Health Administration at NYU’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service. He has over forty years of experience in various hospital and academic health system settings that includes a focus on information technology implementation, hospital clinical operations and resource planning, as well as healthcare productivity, budgeting, reimbursement and operating margin attainability. Over his career he has held directorship, CFO and board-level positions at various not-for-profit healthcare organizations. He is currently the Senior Director of Clinical Finance and Business Partner for the Musculoskeletal Strategic Areas, including all inpatient and ambulatory outpatient surgical locations, as well as physical rehabilitation, within the NYU Langone Health System. Alex has attained a fellowship member designation with the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA). He is an accredited HFMA Certified Healthcare Financial Professional, and also holds HFMA certifications in Business Intelligence, Managed Care and Accounting and Finance. Alex holds a B.S. in Commerce and Finance from Wilkes University, Wilkes-Barre, Pa., and an M.S. Degree from New England College, Henniker, New Hampshire, in Healthcare Administration. He is currently pursuing a Doctor in Business Administration degree from Wilmington University, Wilmington, Delaware where his interest and focus is on the competitive creation of future orthopedic surgical ambulatory joint networks.
