Dr. Niyazov is currently the Senior Director, Global Value and Evidence, Pipeline Oncology Team Lead at Pfizer Oncology. In this role, he oversees a team of outcomes researchers who generate evidence to demonstrate the value proposition of early-stage oncology assets.
Prior to joining Pfizer, Dr. Niyazov held roles of increasing responsibilities across various pharmaceutical companies including Bayer, Novartis, and Acorda Therapeutics where he supported oncology and CNS assets.
Before transitioning to the pharmaceutical industry, Dr. Niyazov worked across several health systems as an oncology pharmacist, pharmacy supervisor, and as an assistant director of pharmacy operations. In those roles, he was involved in population health management and formulary decision making. Dr. Niyazov obtained his PharmD degree from Long Island University, Arnold and Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, his Master’s in Public Health from Columbia University, Mailman School of Public Health, and his Juris Doctor from St. John's University School of Law.
Dr. Niyazov has held faculty appointments at several universities where he taught courses such as delivery of healthcare in the US, international health technology assessment, subjective outcomes in health evaluation, outcomes and economic analysis, cultural competence, health policy and management, clinical trial and research management, intellectual property, compliance and regulation, and advanced pharmacology.
Dr. Niyazov has published extensively in the field of real-world evidence, economic modeling, patient reported outcomes, and the impact of health disparities on access to healthcare.
Dr. Niyazov currently resides in Queens, NY with his wife Olga, and their children. In his spare time, Dr. Niyazov enjoys traveling and spending time with his family.
