Anton Rozhkov

Dr. Anton Rozhkov is an Industry Assistant Professor and a Director of the M.S. in Applied Urban Science and Informatics Program at the Center for Urban Science and Progress (CUSP) at New York University (NYU) Tandon School of Engineering. Dr. Rozhkov's academic interests revolve around the application of geospatial tools, modeling techniques, and data science to address complex technological, environmental, and behavioral challenges in urban environments. His research is primarily dedicated to exploring the transformative potential of data-driven policies and cutting-edge technologies in the context of infrastructure planning and the design of cities.

Before joining NYU, he obtained a Ph.D. degree in Urban Planning and Policy from the University of Illinois Chicago, where his research focused on the vital role of decentralized and renewable energy in shaping our cities through a complex system approach.

Within the CUSP community, Dr. Rozhkov brings his expertise to the classroom, guiding students in their exploration of geographic information systems (GIS), advanced spatial analysis, decision modeling, and machine learning for cities. He helps students work with maps and spatial data, understand the underlying trends, and, most importantly, explore the “why” behind these trends to find the way toward sustainable solutions.
