Brian Farkas

Brian Farkas is a Partner at ArentFox Schiff LLP, a national law firm, where he focuses his practice on complex commercial disputes. He represents businesses and large non-profit organizations in state and federal court, as well as in arbitration and mediation proceedings. Previously, Brian served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Robert W. Lehrburger of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, and as a litigation associate at a midsize firm in New York City.

Each year from 2016 to 2025, Brian has been named a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers for Business Litigation. He is admitted to practice in New York, New Jersey and the District of Columbia.

Beyond his legal practice, Brian is an Adjunct Professor at Cardozo School of Law. At Cardozo, Brian teaches arbitration, negotiation, and legal writing. Five graduating classes have voted him “Best Adjunct Professor.” He has also taught at the City University of New York and the University of Oregon School of Law, and has also taught in Brooklyn Law School’s Mediation Clinic, training students in Small Claims Court mediation.

Brian’s academic writing on arbitration and mediation has appeared in numerous publications, including the American University Business Law Review, N.Y.U. Journal of Law & Business, Cardozo Law Review, Lewis & Clark Law ReviewHarvard Negotiation Law ReviewJournal of Experiential LearningDispute Resolution Journal, and the Northeastern Law Journal.

He currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Vassar College and previously served on the Board of Directors of the New York City Bar Association.

Brian earned his B.A. from Vassar College, his M.P.A. from New York University, and J.D. from Cardozo School of Law.
