David Blout works with the William Julius Wilson Institute at Harlem Children's Zone. He focuses on co-developing strategies with local leaders that fully equip neighborhoods to break cycles of poverty. He brings a decade of experience as a social policy researcher and community practitioner, developing solutions that support child health and development, safe and secure housing, and upward mobility for families of color. David previously worked at the Urban Institute in Washington, DC, where his work focused on housing solutions to make neighborhoods more livable, equitable, and sustainable. David holds an MSW in in Domestic Social & Economic Development from the Brown School at Washington University in St. Louis and a BA in Sociology & International Studies from Loyola University Chicago.
