Gerry Ring has worked in the areas of State and Local government budgeting, financial planning and analysis, and performance management for over 30 years. He started his professional career at the New York City Office of Management and Budget and spent time at the Department of Sanitation as the Deputy Director for Planning and Budget. Gerry had also worked at the MTA Long Island Rail Road for seventeen years, including ten years as the Executive Director of Management and Budget. More recently, he worked at the Long Island Power Authority as the Director of Budget for eight years. Gerry graduated from the NYU Wagner School of Public Service in 1993. He believes that government service is an admirable and honorable profession and critical to do right. Gerry was born and raised in New York City and now lives on Long Island with his wife of 30 years and has three adult children.
