Jonathan Bandel is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Public Service at NYU’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service.
Jonathan is Vice President, Strategy and Innovation for White Plains Hospital (WPH). In this capacity, he oversees strategy, programmatic growth and development of key service lines, in addition to the WPH innovation engine East Post Road Ventures (EPRV). Jonathan is the founder of EPRV, and is responsible for establishing its vision, goals, strategic imperatives, and investment theses. The current areas of focus include digital health technologies and medical devices, supporting use cases identified by key stakeholders across the WPH care delivery continuum. Jonathan is also active in establishing a network of collaborators for EPRV, including local accelerators, county government, and industry thought leaders.
Jonathan has over 15 years of healthcare strategy and operations experience. Before joining White Plains, Jonathan worked at the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) as the Senior Director of Strategic Ventures and Alliances, after having been the Senior Director of Adult Reconstruction and Joint Replacement. While at HSS, Jonathan raised a $5M venture fund.
Prior to HSS, Jonathan served as the Vice President of Women and Children’s Services for NYU Lutheran, where he had responsibility for horizontally integrating the service line across the various entities under the NYU Lutheran umbrella, and expanding pediatric subspecialty services provided in Brooklyn.
Jonathan has also worked at Northwell as the Senior Administrative Director of OB/GYN, and at Kaleida Health as the Director of Operations for the System's captive PC and Physician Practice Manager of Women's Services.
Jonathan started his career in consulting, providing strategic planning services to healthcare and government clients with PwC and Kurt Salmon. He has a BA from the University of Pennsylvania, a MPA from New York University, and a MS in Finance from Baruch College, in addition to being a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE), certified Six Sigma Green Belt (CSSGB), and Project Management Professional (PMP).
