Judy Huynh is a data analyst, GIS designer, and urban planner specializing in climate adaptation, risk analysis, and geospatial storytelling. At Rebuild by Design, based at NYU’s Institute for Public Knowledge, she has led nationally recognized projects including the Atlas of Accountability, Selling Flood Risk: NYC, and Parks as Infrastructure. Her work, featured in The New York Times, The Washington Post, and other major outlets, translates complex risk and infrastructure data into clear, actionable insights that influence policy, strengthen community advocacy, and secure funding for climate resilience.
Judy earned her Master of Urban Planning from NYU Wagner, where she received the Robert Berne Dean’s Award for Leadership and served as Chair of the Urban Planning Student Association. She also holds a Bachelor of Environmental Studies and Urban Design from the University of Waterloo. She has taught Urban Planning Methods as an Adjunct Lecturer and currently serves as a Teaching Assistant for the History & Theory of Planning Recitation Workshop. In Spring 2026, she will teach Hazard Mitigation, Risk Analysis, and Mapping, bringing her professional experience at the intersection of GIS, design, and strategy into the classroom. Her teaching emphasizes both technical proficiency and the ability to translate data into compelling narratives that drive meaningful change in the built environment.
