Liz DeMatteis is a Lecturer of Health Administration at NYU's Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service.
Liz is a dynamic leader with experience across a wide range of health tech firms. From her 20+-year career, Liz brings broad perspective across segments (electrophysiology to self-insured employers), technologies (cell-free DNA testing to data analytics SaaS), and company stages (F500 to startup). Known for building brands, cultures, and companies, Liz is passionate about solutions that bring better patient access and outcomes while reducing system burden.
Liz currently serves as the Chief Marketing Officer at Papa, which has created a new care force—Papa Pals—to provide companionship and everyday support to older adults and families.
Papa is one of five growth-stage, venture-/PE-backed firms in Liz’s past decade of experience. Prior to Papa, she served in executive roles at Aetion, Grand Rounds, Evolent Health, and Real Chemistry, all of which achieved 50%+ CAGR during her tenure. In the first half of her career, Liz drove R&D investment and global launches within medtech, primarily at Medtronic.
A deeply curious mind, Liz regularly engages with and creates forums for health care’s thought leaders—investors, physician KOLs, policymakers, industry executives, media, and more. She also serves as an advisor to early-stage firms, including AllStripes and Memora Health. Liz earned her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Montana and an M.B.A. from the University of Washington Foster School of Business.
