Adjunct Assistant Professor of Public Service Sue Davies joined the faculty of NYU in 2007 after a 35+ year career leading fundraising departments at nonprofit organizations. In addition to NYU Wagner, she teaches in the Master’s in Professional Writing Program and The George H. Heyman, Jr. Program for Philanthropy and Fundraising in NYU’s School for Professional Studies. In 2017, New York Nonprofit Media named her one of the Top 50 over 50 Nonprofit Leaders in New York City. She received a Teaching Excellence Award from New York University School of Professional Studies in 2022.
Currently the President of Davies Ang Consulting, Sue advises nonprofits on all aspects of fundraising and board development. She has held leadership positions at United Way of New York City, Montclair State University, Barnard College, Rutgers University, the All Stars Project, the New York Academy of Sciences, and the American Cancer Society.
She has been a featured speaker at programs sponsored by: Women in Development, the Association for Fundraising Professionals, the Foundation Center, Do Something, the Taos Institute, the New York Times School, and elsewhere. She has served on the Boards of Directors of the All Stars Project, Women in Development/NYC, Association for Fundraising Professionals/New Jersey, and Leadership Newark.
She is one of the organizers of Yes, And… Higher Education, an international group of educators using improvisation, play, and performance to create innovative, developmental, and community-centered learning environments.
When not teaching, Sue is an avid travel and a member of North American Travel Journalists Association (NATJA). You can read her work at Travel for Life Now (https://travelforlifenow.com), Travel World International, and other travel media sites. Sue is also a certified pickleball coach.
Sue received a BA from Bryn Mawr College, a certificate in database development and design from Columbia University, and a master’s in information science from Pace University.
