Advancing the NY SNAP4All Campaign: Strategic Analysis and Recommendations

Equity Advocates (EA) and United Neighborhood Houses (UNH) lead a coalition of community leaders, activists, and interest groups to advocate for the expansion of SNAP access in New York State to include income-eligible immigrants. To strengthen their understanding of the coalition’s capacity and capabilities, the Capstone Group designed and conducted a member representation survey that collected updated information on coalition members’ commitment, advocacy capacity, existing relationships with key stakeholders, and experience within key sectors such as food insecurity and immigrants’ rights. The Capstone Group developed recommendations for how the coalition can increase its strategic power to help pass SNAP4All legislation statewide through the analysis of two sets of survey data and online research.
