New York Presbyterian Payne Whitney Clinic

With 260 inpatient beds, the Department of Psychiatry at NYP Hospital, also known as Payne Whitney, is the nation’s largest freestanding, psychiatric institution. The Resident rotated through various administrative departments including finance, operations, marketing, building services, and human resources, while providing project support through each one. The Resident worked with each department leader to analyze business processes, evaluate clinical programs, and generate reports to summarize important data. One of the main projects that the resident took ownership of was the creation of Payne Whitney’s first Table of Organization that will be used as a critical operating tool for communication purposes.
