Poorvi Goel is a doctoral student at NYU Wagner, studying public policy and development economics. Her research interests lie at the intersection of poverty, labor markets, and social protection. Her most recent research involved studying the impact of socioeconomic factors on older women's economic vulnerability and labor market outcomes in urban contexts. Poorvi has seven years of prior professional experience, and has held economic research and policy advisory positions with the New York City Economic Development Corporation, Commonwealth Secretariat in London, United Nations Development Programme in Delhi, and Planning Commission in the Government of India. She holds an MPA in Development Practice from Columbia University, an MSc in Economics from London School of Economics, and a BA (Hons) in Economics from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi.
