FAQS: Online MHA - Master of Health Administration

When are Online MHA courses held?

Live class sessions for courses in the Online MHA are one hour weekly (per course). These sessions are scheduled in the 7-8pm and/or 8:30-9:30pm time slots on Tuesday and/or Wednesday evenings. To accommodate the various course schedules, which are posted in advance of registration, students should plan to be available on both Tuesday and Wednesday evenings.

Who will be teaching the Online MHA classes?

Online MHA classes will be taught by NYU Wagner’s distinguished research and practitioner faculty. Many are top managers at the most prestigious hospitals and healthcare systems in the country; others conduct groundbreaking research and advise government agencies on major US healthcare initiatives.

Does the Online MHA curriculum require a thesis?

No, the Online MHA culminates with an interactive, online simulation, where you will practice working in top-management teams, thinking strategically, drawing on evidence, and making trade-offs under time pressure and constraints.

Are Online MHA students required to come to campus?

Yes, all Online MHA students come to campus for a two-and-a-half day immersion in their second semester to build skills in leadership; communications; evidence-based decision-making; and managing careers. Lodging and meals are provided as part of tuition/fees.

What is the difference between NYU Wagner's Master of Health Administration (MHA) and Master of Public Administration (MPA) in Health Policy & Management degree programs?

NYU Wagner’s Online MHA is a highly structured program for working professionals focused on advancing their career in healthcare management. It is only available online and can only be completed on a part-time basis. It requires students to be experienced professionals currently employed in the US healthcare field.
