Bloomberg Fellows Meet with Christina Greer, Cohost of FAQ New York Podcast

students around roundtable

On Friday, February 6, the current cohort of Bloomberg Public Service Fellows and several alumni convened for a roundtable discussion with guest speaker, Dr. Christina Greer, cohost of the FAQ New York podcast and political science professor at Fordham University, moderated by Henry Hart Rice Professor of Urban Policy and Planning Mitchell Moss of NYU Wagner.

The discussion was robust and conversational as Dr. Greer shared her insights on the landscape of New York state and city politics. While not her first conversation with NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani, Dr. Greer interviewed the new mayor on FAQ New York in January in his first sit-down interview since taking office. She told the Fellows what she told Mayor Mamdani: depth of support matters as much as breadth when it comes to getting things done for New Yorkers. Dr. Greer also emphasized the need for Black representation at City Hall, particularly among deputy mayors, and the importance of establishing trust with the Black community. Questions from Fellows made for an engaging, forward-looking conversation about the future of our city.
