New York is an international hub for arts and culture, and City & State has recognized the leaders at the heart of it all in the 2024 Arts & Culture Power 100 list.
Notably, three NYU Wagner alumni were selected for the list.
17. Alan van Capelle (EMPA 2012), executive director, Friends of the High Line
Since joining Friends of the High Line a year ago, van Capelle has helped lead the High Line into the next era of its growth, setting record attendance for its Latin Dance events and expanding its public arts program.
43. Heather Lubov (MPA 1999), executive director, City Parks Foundation
Lobuv, who has served as executive director of the City Parks Foundation since 2014, has helped reinvigorate New York City post-pandemic, producing programs across the city’s iconic parks, including free concerts and the beloved SummerStage series. This year, 50% of SummerStage series performers were women or women-led bands, meeting the Foundation’s goal.
89. Lauren Bush (MPA 2014), chief operating officer, The Parkside Group
A steadfast arts and culture advocate and former decorative arts small business owner, Bush now serves as the chief operating officer of The Parkside Group, a leading government relations firm that lobbies for clients in the arts and creative industries, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Prada, Sony, and the Queens Public Library.
