Joseph Conte (MPA 1992) Named a 2025 Staten Island Trailblazer

Staten Island, with its own distinct political and cultural identity, holds a unique place in New York City. City and State’s 2025 Staten Island Trailblazers list recognizes the leaders shaping the borough, including Wagner alumnus Joseph Conte (MPA 1992). 

As Executive Director of the Staten Island Performing Provider System, Conte leads the nonprofit’s efforts to address disparities in health care by serving Medicaid recipients and uninsured New Yorkers. While leading the organization for the past decade, Conte has coordinated services across Staten Island and partnered with NYC Health + Hospitals to launch a program treating opioid addiction.
