How has your background in healthcare marketing impacted your journey?

My background in healthcare marketing has given me valuable insight into how communication, branding, and patient engagement influence healthcare accessibility and decision-making. Through my experience, I’ve seen firsthand how effective marketing strategies can bridge the gap between healthcare providers and the communities they serve. This understanding has fueled my passion for healthcare administration, as I aim to implement policies and systems that prioritize patient-centered care, health equity, and operational efficiency.

What course or experience from your time at Wagner has been the most helpful or inspiring so far?

Health Policy and Health Systems I has been the most inspiring course so far, as it opened my eyes to the complexities of health policy and its profound impact on healthcare accessibility, quality, and equity. Through this course, I gained a deeper understanding of the challenges within our healthcare system and the critical role that policy plays in shaping sustainable and effective solutions. I’m currently the Chair of Wagner Health Network and a writing coach at the Wagner Writing Center. Being involved in the Wagner community has allowed me to make lifelong connections and contribute meaningfully to the academic and professional growth of my peers. Through these roles, I have developed leadership, mentorship, and advocacy skills, all of which have strengthened my experience and reinforced my commitment to improving healthcare systems and policies.

How do you see yourself making an impact in healthcare administration in the future?

I see myself making an impact in healthcare administration by driving policies and initiatives that enhance healthcare accessibility, equity, and efficiency. My goal is to implement strategic solutions that improve patient outcomes, streamline healthcare operations, and address disparities within the system. Whether through policy development, hospital administration, or community-based programs, I aim to be a leader who advocates for sustainable change and ensures that quality healthcare is available to all. By leveraging my experience in healthcare marketing, policy analysis, and leadership, I hope to bridge gaps in care and contribute to a more effective and inclusive healthcare system.

What advice do you have for students who are balancing working and studying?

My advice is to prioritize time management—use a planner or digital calendar to schedule your tasks, deadlines, and study sessions efficiently. Set clear boundaries between work, school, and personal time to avoid burnout, and don’t be afraid to ask for support from professors, colleagues, or classmates when needed. Staying organized and proactive can help you maintain a steady workload without feeling overwhelmed. Lastly, remember to take breaks and prioritize self-care—your well-being is just as important as your academic and professional success.
