Menbere Shiferaw began the doctoral program at Wagner in the fall of 2013 and is a graduate assistant at the Institute for Education and Social Policy. Before joining Wagner, she received an M.A. in economics from Syracuse University where she also worked as a certified tutor in economics and Spanish. Previously, Menbere worked for four years as an education and labor market research analyst at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta for the research department and Center for Human Capital Studies. Her research interests lie broadly in education economics, education policy, and labor economics, in particular topics related to human capital development and labor market returns as well as the impact of immigration on educational and labor market outcomes.
