On February 27, NYU Wagner will welcome Barbara DeBuono, M.D., M.P.H, former Commissioner of Health for the New York State Department of Health, eight-year veteran of Pfizer, and co-founder of the MAIA Foundation, a non profit dedicated to improving the health and health literacy of women in sub-Saharan Africa.

Barbara and her sister Laureen, co-founder of MAIA and an NYU Law School grad, will discuss their program’s invaluable work in reducing maternal mortality and providing health education and life skills coaching in Uganda and Rwanda. Join us for a fascinating discussion on the ins and outs of establishing a fledgling non-profit, and how the DeBuono sister’s vision drives their work. A reception will follow the presentation.
