Undergraduate Offerings
JOINT UNDERGRADUATE MINORS
The Wagner School offers a number of joint undergraduate minors with several undergraduate schools at NYU. Each of these minors is comprised of several courses from Wagner in addition to several courses from the other school.
SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP MINOR
Social entrepreneurship is an emerging field that crosses public and private boundaries. Some examples include:
Nonprofit and government entities harnessing the power of markets for public gain
The development and rise of mission-driven, stakeholder-focused businesses
Microfinance practices blurring the edges of philanthropy and investment through the use of market forces while delivering financial returns and societal benefits
'Intrepreneurs' building the infrastructure necessary to improve the operations and management systems of public, private and nonprofit entities to achieve socially advantageous results
COURSE OFFERINGS FOR SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP (4-COURSE MINIMUM)
Students will take a carefully chosen selection of Wagner and Stern course option that explore the concept of students as "changemakers," entrepreneurship, and the management practices, public policy implications, and social & economic consequences of the current domestic and international rise in social entrepreneurialism.

PUBLIC POLICY & MANAGEMENT MINOR
In an age of increasing public-private cooperation, with the traditional lines between government, business, and the non-profit sectors blurred, NYU's Stern School of Management and the Wagner School of Public Service announce a collaborative undergraduate minor in public policy and management.
Recognizing that the typical Stern undergraduate will move fluidly between public and private realms in their professional work, this joint minor is designed to offer broad exposure to and preparation in both. Students electing this minor may choose from a carefully selected range of Stern and Wagner policy, management, and business courses. Among the first collaborative efforts of its kind among U.S. universities, this genuinely interdisciplinary program showcases both the business/management acumen and public-service heart of these leading NYU professional schools.
Students must complete a total of 16 credits (minimum) for the minor within these guidelines:

P11.0020 Introduction to Public Service (4 credits)

SOCIAL AND PUBLIC POLICY
Addressing and understanding social policy in areas ranging from education, health, and immigration to social entrepreneurship and the arts is at the heart of the Wagner School enterprise. Drawing on this traditional strength, undergraduates electing the joint Wagner-College of Arts and Science Social and Public Policy minor will receive a broad introduction to social policymaking. They can then choose from among courses covering specific areas of social policy (a list to be expanded in coming years to include environment, housing, and energy, among others). Whether students plan to pursue careers in the policy arena or merely remain engaged citizens, the Social and Public Policy minor provides a sturdy foundation.
Students must complete a total of 16 credits for the minor within these guidelines:
