Can you tell us a bit about your job responsibilities?
In my current position I do several things. First, I project manage interdepartmental projects. I also track and analyze data for process improvement efforts. Finally, I support timely initiatives, such as N95 mask distribution, and the COVID vaccine center.
What were you doing before you came to NYU Wagner?
Prior to coming to NYU Wagner, I was working in DC for Advisory Board, a health care research, tech, and consulting company. This experience gave me a great overview of the health care industry and the challenges that were keeping hospital executives up at night. I knew that for the next step in my career, I wanted to build the skills necessary to be successful within a hospital or health system.
What impact do you hope to make through your career?
The impact I hope to make in my career is to continue to highlight health disparities and bring it to the forefront of health care operations. I want to commit the next step—and the rest of my career—to ensuring that marginalized populations have access to high-quality, low-cost health care.
I am also the author of Health Care of a Thousand Slights, published in December 2020 through New Degree Press. The book details the history of health disparities among marginalized populations in the United States, looking explicitly at the impact of non-health policies on how marginalized groups access health care.
