Why did you choose NYU Wagner for graduate school?

I wanted to specialize in policy analysis and Wagner’s approach to policy, focused on public service, suited perfectly with my interests. Wagner offered me a scholarship that allowed me to pursue my graduate studies.

Can you tell us a bit about your job responsibilities?

I am the founding partner of two consultancy firms, based in Mexico City. In the first, Probatio, we conduct policy analysis for decision-makers in Mexico and abroad. In the second, COMETA, we strengthen organizational capacities of civil society organizations that seek social change in Latin American, Africa and Asia.

How did your experiences at NYU Wagner prepare you for your career?

At the time, in Latin America, NGOs were not considered relevant actors in the policy making process, Wagner provided me with important tools to prove otherwise and to innovate in strengthening NGOs in Mexico. I also had the opportunity to work for an international NGO based in Washington DC. I am part of the very few consultants in Mexico that have deep experience and knowledge on NGOs and its role in achieving social change.
