How would you describe your experience as a Wagner student?

It was an amazing experience.  Academically, the coursework was challenging, but informative.  Socially, the camaraderie and teamwork was personally fulfilling.  The friends I made are exceptional people who I plan to keep in touch with for many years.

Describe your current job.

My current job is pursuing a PhD.  This includes both coursework and applied research.  I am researching how technology is improving the way we manage disasters.  I just recently completed a research project with American Red Cross.  What I learned at Wagner, most notably the nuances of how non-profits operate, was instrumental in my ability to conduct great research.  The ARC is now considering how to implement my applied research nationwide.

What are the advantages of the Wagner alumni network?

There are so many advantages that I don't know if I can answer this.  Things begin to happen when you talk to others who get what you do and share a similar passion for making a difference.  The Wagner alumni network is full of passionate people doing many interesting and complementary things.  It seems at least twice a month I am meeting with current students or alumni interested in my work.   I am happy to refer them to other people and opportunities as I know how Wagner has prepared them well.
