Why did you choose Wagner for graduate school?
I started a small nonprofit as an undergrad and wanted to expand my skills in the management aspect of scaling-up that organization. Wagner offered a great opportunity to do that in a wonderful community of people dedicated to changing the world.
How did being in New York impact your professional journey?
I loved the focus Wagner placed on learning while doing. While in New York, I worked at four social sector organizations and companies. Three were in the arts, and one was in cause marketing. It was fantastic to be able to experience and learn in several different contexts. The Wagner community was key in encouraging me and supporting me in this search. I have never found better materials on finding, pursuing, and getting jobs than I found at Wagner!
Describe your current job.
I work at the new Generosity by Indiegogo (www.generosity.com), our dedicated site for social impact. It has all the value of Indiegogo's community, yet it’s specifically tailored for impact related fundraising. My role at the moment is primarily focused on sharing the value and best practices of crowdfunding for impact fundraising and awareness. At Indiegogo, I have worked across multiple roles, including product development, marketing and operations.
