Why did you choose NYU Wagner for graduate school?

I knew Wagner was the right choice for me when I learned about the hands-on approach to learning (Capstone, internships) and had an opportunity to talk with faculty members who were involved in both research, and in the healthcare industry, doing work that interested me, that I cared about, and that I thought I could learn from.

How did you find your first post-NYU Wagner job?

Prof. Kovner challenged me to consider Administrative Fellowships after Wagner. I had worked closely with him, and he knew I was looking to make a change from my career pre-Wagner. I was not familiar with fellowships, but it proved to be the best choice I could have made, set the stage for my career, and brought me professional relationships and mentors that will last a lifetime.

How did your experiences at NYU Wagner prepare you for your career?

I was able to engage deeply both academically and in the healthcare industry. I had the opportunity to work with Prof. John Billings and Prof. Anthony Kovner closely, both of whom challenged my perceptions of health and healthcare. I also had an opportunity to work at two major NYC hospitals via internships and residencies during my time at Wagner that gave me opportunities to consider how the academic learning translated to the work I wanted to do.
