Why did you choose Wagner for graduate school?

I choose Wagner for graduate school because of its New York City location, the courses that were offered, and the diverse and in-depth background of the faculty. My goal was to change the trajectory of my career and gain experience in exceptional nonprofit organizations and City agencies within New York City. Wagner offered challenging finance courses with a focus in public service and experienced and engaging faculty.

How did being in New York impact your professional journey?

New York has provided me with the platform to enter into the field of government budgeting and nonprofit organizations at their highest caliber. Being in New York has allowed me to analyze the country’s largest and most complex municipal budget and intern at effective and well-functioning nonprofit organizations.

What are the advantages of the Wagner alumni network?

Wagner alumni are at the forefront of nonprofit organizations and government agencies in New York City, and the network helped to connect me with management at the three agencies I interned with (including NYC OMB).  The reputation of Wagner alumni provides opportunities that would not otherwise have been available to me.
