Why did you choose Wagner for graduate school?

Wagner offered the opportunity to learn from both practitioners and professionals in the policy world, especially through capstone. The Wagner community was also the right fit for me - everyone shares a passion for public service and the diverse professional experiences of fellow students, alumni, and faculty make an ideal learning environment.

How did being in New York impact your professional journey?

Working and living in New York really allowed me to expand my network in the international development field. Through internships I learned much more about policy coordination in my field and about international organizations and how they work.

How did your Wagner experience prepare you professionally for what you are doing today?

I took on coursework to explore my interest in cross-sector collaboration. This has given me useful concepts to build on as I currently conduct research for communities and companies engaged in a federally-funded economic development program. Some of the concepts I use in my current analyses draw on economic trends I initially learned during my capstone project. My prior quant courses have also helped, as my work requires me to abstract trends from complex data and synthesize this into clear content for client audiences.
