Why did you choose Wagner for graduate school?

I chose Wagner for a few reasons. First, I knew that their class schedule was flexible and I was intent on exploring my career further through internships in different nonprofits and city agencies while at Wagner. I also loved that Wagner encouraged and facilitated this type of experiential learning as part of the fundamental Wagner experience. Second, the Wagner graduates I met through my early career in New York City were smart, creative, effective and a pleasure with which to work and partner, which served as a high recommendation for the school.

How would you describe your experience as a Wagner student?

When I left my job to start at Wagner, I was managing a team and had “hit a wall” in terms of my management knowledge, experience and problem solving skills. Going to Wagner allowed me to reflect on my experience as a manager and learn how to be more effective. The heavy emphasis on learning and using performance management tools is also something that has strongly influenced how I approach my work since going to Wagner.

What are the advantages of the Wagner alumni network?

Everywhere I have worked, interned or created partnerships in New York City there is one or more Wagner graduate. The network is vast and facilitates introductions, cooperation and comradery. I have also reached out to Wagner Alumni multiple times to speak to them about their jobs and careers during my own career search and found them highly accessible.
