Why did you choose Wagner for graduate school?

Wagner’s combination of world-class faculty and prime location were a winner for me.  As a native New Yorker who had been out of the city for several years, studying urban planning in New York helped me get closer to the city I grew up in in ways that I wouldn’t have imagined. The small size of the urban planning program is also a major draw; we were a close-knit group and received a good deal of individualized attention from faculty and staff.

How would you describe your experience as a Wagner student?

I can describe it in one, hyphenated word: eye-opening. I felt as though the entire city opened up to me in ways that I had never anticipated, from having the opportunity to attend guest lectures given by top policy makers, to working with faculty involved in an incredible range of urban planning issues, to studying with fellow students who shared my passions and interests.

How did you find your first post-Wagner job?

The Wagner alumni network!  The woman responsible for hiring at my first post-Wagner job was a Wagner graduate herself, who still relied heavily on fresh graduates to fill her company’s hiring needs.
