How did your Wagner experience prepare you professionally for what you are doing today?

My peers and I were challenged to think critically about policy issues, to be innovative regarding solutions to those issues, and to be passionate enough to implement those solutions with confidence. In addition, Wagner challenged students to develop the ability work successfully in groups as well as alone. This environment truly allowed students to grow and build off their peers. Not only did I receive a great education, but I also developed infinite friendships that I will have for life.

Describe your current job.

After graduation, a fellow Wagner Alumna offered me my first job at SBS as she believed I would be a good fit for the role; I manage the formation/expansion of Business Improvement Districts (BIDs) throughout New York City. This includes providing technical assistance, best practices, and guidance to all stakeholder attempting to form/expand a BID. In addition to my responsibilities with BID development, I also serve as a Board Representative on behalf of the Mayor on numerous BID Boards through out the city.

What are the advantages of the Wagner alumni network?

Being a Wagner Alumnus means that you will have a lifetime network of amazing friends, peers, and colleagues. No matter where you go throughout New York City, you are sure to find a Wagner graduate doing incredible things. For me, having this network of support, optimism, encouragement, and fellowship is one of the most valuable things I have taken from Wagner. Ultimately, it is the diverse range of passionate, ambitious, and smart individuals in various positions of influence and leadership that make the Wagner alumni network such an advantage.
