How did your Wagner experience prepare you professionally for what you are doing today?

I specialized in MUP's International Development Planning, and a lot of the most important lessons that stuck with me were reflections from my NYU Wagner professors and graduate students who come from different corners of the world. Working in Research and Future Shaping requires me to be up to speed with urban trends and innovations worldwide. There was no better place to learn the ropes than amongst my NYU Wagner community.

Describe your current job.

I carry the responsibilities of Acting Section Head for the Research and Future Shaping Section within Abu Dhabi’s Department of Municipalities and Transport. The Section is tasked, amongst other things, to conduct research and studies of all the possible futures that would affect the Emirate of Abu Dhabi’s Urban Planning, Real Estate and Transport sectors, and ensure that the organization and its mandated specializations and practices are Future Ready.

What impact do you hope to make through your career and/or organization? 

I hope to lay down the cornerstone that would influence a shift in mindset and build a culture within the organisation for the practice of Future Shaping,  which would serve the Urban Planning, Real Estate and Transport sectors of Abu Dhabi Emirate.
