Why did you choose NYU Wagner for graduate school?

I had a mentor, serving in local government, who attended Wagner and encouraged me to apply. He spoke highly of the school being a laboratory for a lot of cutting edge work around public policy, justice and equity.

Have you found any advantages to being a part of the NYU Wagner alumni network?

You can find Wagner alums everywhere and across many industries, even ones folks might not expect. I certainly have been able to tap into that wide footprint the school has built in the last few decades.

How did your experiences at NYU Wagner prepare you for your career?

I would say the highlight of my experience was that academics were steeped in practicality and not just theory. Many professors and students were practitioners as well, so I was able to see a direct line between what was learned in the classroom and how it worked in society.

What impact do you hope to make through your career?

Simply put, to leave things better than I found them.
