How did you find your first post-Wagner job?

I found my post-Wagner job through a Wagner alumna on the Career Services website. The alumna was leaving her role and submitted my resume along with a recommendation to her boss.

How would you describe your experience as a Wagner student?

The emphasis on teamwork at Wagner is something I highly utilize in my current role. Also, the client relations experience the Capstone provided smoothed the transition process from academia to the professional workforce.

Describe your current job.

The Deputy Chief of Staff serves as a key member of the Commissioner’s team to support her role in overseeing the extensive transportation network of New York City. Reporting directly to the Chief of Staff, the Deputy Chief of Staff assists in coordinating and planning implementation of DOT’s policy, communications, operational and budget agenda.

In addition, the Deputy Chief of Staff supports the Commissioner in her role as Chair of TRANSCOM (a coalition of 16 transportation and public safety agencies in the NY-NJCT metropolitan region) and is the primary liaison with TRANSCOM senior staff. He or she plans and organizes Board meetings, conference calls, and other tasks as needed.
